Before I pay the bill and head on up for a little nap, I couldn’t resist posting the finale dress from today’s Kleinfeld show…
That is a showstopper. So what do you think…love it or hate it? We’ll be back later (maybe tomorrow) with more from the show!

I think it’s a little overworked myself – the pattern, the gathering, the lace! But every bride should have a dress that makes her feel beautiful and special and if THIS one does that for someone who am I to say it’s no good? I can’t wait for this baby to start showing up in photos.
I mean, I love me some plaid, and I think this could be pulled off, in theory… but the lacy bottom of this one sort of makes it look either like a dustruffle or a high school musical theater costume. Generally though I think a plaid wedding dress, done right, could be amazingly awesome and bold.
showstopper for sure. reminds me of the plaid dress Charlotte wore on Sex and the City – The one she had made in her husbands family tartan.
I think the idea of it is clever – meant to spark the brides imagination on what is possible! it’d be a risk! not for me, but eye-catching for sure.
Reminds me of Scarlett O’hara in drapes??? It was a showtopper, thought provoker, and grand finale…but I couldn’t help but think – picnic tablecloth!
Ew! Hate it with a passion.
I love it…It is all about the context the dress is worn in and how the event is style. I wore plaid on my wedding dress, so I guess I am a little biased.
It’s certainly not to my taste, but it is original and eye catching and has got people talking, so it certainly did it’s job!
It looks a little bit too much like a costume, but if the bottom was reworked, and in the right context, it could be amazing. I don’t mind the lace, but it needs to be toned down and the gathering is too old fashioned. If it was modernized a bit, this could be killer
Wow- that’s certainly different – though I think it has more editorial / PR appeal than something “ready to wear”. Then again, I am sure there are a few creative, stylish brides out there that will find it to be the perfect finishing touch to their wedding and wear it beautifully….
Oh no! I agree with Melissa. It reminds me of a really bad “remake” of Scarlet O’Hara’s (Gone with the Wind) velvet curtain dress…that is if she didn’t have the velvet at hand it would have turned out something like this…rather scary. Sorry…while I love Kleinfeld, this just has too much going on. I think it could have been so much better, but they missed the mark!
WOW!!! Definitely unique! This gown would be a real eye catcher and show stopper! If a bride chooses to wear this type of gown….. then I say go head and were it well……
A la Anthony Marentino in SATC – hates it!
was loving it until I scrolled down and saw the bottom. The lace took it over the top for me.
I think the lace keeps it from looking like a straight up tablecloth. I personally do not like it at all. All I can look at is the massive amount of plaid. I hardly even looked at the bride’s beautiful face. Put it in a white or a solid color and I think the dress would be very pretty.
I love it! I think it’s such a fun alternative for a fall or winter wedding. Of course, considering I have a love affair with all things plaid (kilts, flannel sheets, etc.) this comes as no surprise. To me it is very Ralph Lauren-chic!
Not good. The top is fantastic, but the skirt is just too tablecloth/salon style. I’m a fan of incorporating subtle touches here and there. But, not an all over plaid dress.
That’s not a wedding dress… It’s pretty dang cool but it’s just a gown. Not a wedding gown!
So glad to see a little personalization in the dress. Plaid, polka dots, hot pink or burlap why not wear something that makes a statement? Your statement! I can’t wait to start designing flowers for brides that really know their style and aren’t afraid to show it.
Reminds me of a dress my mom wore to formal holiday parties for several years in the early 80′s – it doesn’t look at all bridal to me. I’m all for a departure from white but this isn’t it!
Oh my goodness, what a hot mess that is. Horrifying!
I’m kind of loving it! The more I look at it the more it grows on me. Who says a wedding dress has to be white? The fit is spectacular. I want to cut off the bottom & wear the top with some super cute white linen pants or the new “Minnie pants” by J. Crew with a fun cropped jacket. It is stunning. And Kebbie is right on…your wedding, your style, don’t be afraid to show it!
really really no.
I happen to LOVE plaid… so this is original, eye-popping and whimsical. The lace on the bottom does take me to Gone With the Wind a little… but if this is what makes the bride feel beautiful from the inside out, I say… WHY NOT?
I actually agree Katie..I’d wear the top by itself, but I’d pair it with black or grey pants.
Hey there, my brother let me know about your blog a few days ago, and I just like it. I will be subscribing! Thanks!
I’ve been dying to see this dress! I agree that the bottom could be done differently. Not a fan of the lace. It makes it look less wedding-special. Curious what it might look like in other plaids?! Or even a toned down version of this one. Needs a little more white, or the black should be less obvious/less dark?
I liked as much as you’ll receive performed right here. The cartoon is tasteful, your authored subject matter stylish. however, you command get bought an impatience over that you would like be handing over the following. in poor health undoubtedly come more earlier once more since exactly the same nearly very ceaselessly inside case you protect this hike.
I am getting married soon, this is the dress I dream of wearing. If I could get my hands on it, I would definately wear it as I walk down the isle.
