The Business of Blogging – Backstage

Well…we had QUITE the weekend! You might think that it’s all prettiness and fun over here at SMP, but nope…not always. After a long flight from Houston to Atlanta (and by long, I mean we were juggling a very tired, cranky baby)…we missed our connection by 4 minutes! So we could either wait at the airport for 8-9 hours until the next flight or we could stay in a hotel near the airport. We chose the second option and had a fuss filled night of chaos. We managed to get back to Boston on Saturday afternoon, just a few hours before Halloween.

It was a looooong 24 hours and another example of why traveling in this country flat out sucks. But, we made it back for our very favorite Holiday here in Boston. Something we really didn’t want to miss. Our little neighborhood goes ALL out for Halloween. We’re talking a parade around the block with an old school marching band, 5-600 kiddies all decked out, ghosts and goblins, a DJ, the works. Audrey was supposed to be a bunny, but she was not having it. She was tired from the trip and confused by the total madness that was happening just outside our door. So instead, we managed to put together a ridiculously lame ballerina outfit for her and by the end of the night actually convinved her to put her bunny ears on to take a few pics.

All in all, we had a great weekend and were so happy to spend at least one more Halloween in our cute little Charlestown condo. When I look back at pictures of my own Halloweens past, I always think about how fast time must fly for my parents. And now as a mom, I feel it even more. Pretty soon my little ballerina bunny won’t be so little anymore. So trust me, when I tell you that I have completely forgotten about the bad flight and the awful travel experience…it faded pretty instantly the minute I laid eyes on my adorable bunny rabbit.

This pic is precious. It’s moments like this in our lives that make a parent forget about the not-so-happy moments. All in all it sounded like you ended up with a Happy Halloween!

Adorable! My little girl was supposed to be dressed up as well, but refused, so she went in a dress. When people asked what she was I said “dressed up” cause she’s usually in her jammies! So fun to hear I am not the only one with a nightmare airport experience, wait till you have two!

A bunny ballerina is a perfectly valid halloween costume. ;)

Glad it worked out in the end.

I noticed you said “at least one more holiday in our condo”.
Does this mean that Style Me Pretty is gearing up for a move?
BTW – Your little girl is scrumptious!
